A Brief History
The GFWC Carrollton Civic Woman's Club Salad Luncheon began over 25 years ago when club members gathered for lunch and a good game of bridge to raise funds for community service projects. The CCWC Salad Luncheon is an event that club members and community participants look forward to each year. It requires much planning and preparation by each club member.
Because of strong community support, this event has grown in both popularity and success. Although it has been held at several locations, for the past several years its home has been the Fellowship Hall of the Carrollton First United Methodist Church. Every October club members prepare a luncheon of delicious salads. Bridge, however, is no longer played. Instead, the club offers silent auction items, estate sale treasures, bake sale goodies, and raffles. The Annual Salad Luncheon is the club's largest fundraiser of the year and hosts people from all over the county who come together for fellowship, and most importantly, to raise money for the community.
